Carol: I am a 29-year-old full-time mother of two children,
ages 8 and 2. I grew up in Northern Virginia and moved to Blacksburg
to go to school where I met my husband, Mark.
I am disheartened by the housing and "neighborhoods" currently available in Blacksburg which seem to encourage isolation. It is my hope that Cohousing will foster strong relationships, both within my own family and among community members. My husband and I want very much to raise our children within a supporting framework of friends and neighbors. My activities and interests currently include: homeschooling our 8-year-old son, reading about American colonial history, reading in general, birds, nature, being at the library and bike riding with my family. In the future I would like to learn more about the following: gardening, dancing, pottery, sign language, carpentry, piano, banjo, singing and quilting. |
| Mark: I am a 29-year-old husband and father. My wife and
I have 2 children, Tim and Annie. I work as an Area Manager
for Pizza Hut and spend a lot of time traveling. My job
keeps me away from my family much more than I would like so I try
to make my time with them count.
My interests currently include: playing with kids and investing.
My interests would include the following if I had more time: community
theatre, woodworking, camping, piano and Spanish.

Tim: I am 8 years old and I live with my mom and dad and
my little sister, Annie. We have a cat named Lucy, but we call
her kitten. I like bike riding, swimming, playing with friends, building
things, watching birds and insects, looking for animal bones and digging
for diamonds and treasures. I love eating icecream in the summer
and hot chocolate in winter. My sister is 2 years old and she
imitates everything I do. She is funny.
I don't know for sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I have some ideas. |
