Aerial view of our land and its surroundings looking north towards Brush Mountain, taken in February 2002.   The yellow rectangle encloses our site plus a small portion of adjoining properties.

Our 33 acres are bounded on the north by a winding road (Shadow Lake Road) and by the neighboring Westover Hills subdivision on the south, at the bottom of the photo, below a line of buffer trees that were newly installed and 6 feet high in February 2002 -- they are barely visible connect-the-dots near the bottom of the yellow rectangle.

Our five-acre ridgetop building site is the somewhat triangular shape located below the letters "SLV" inside the yellow rectangle.   At its left is our 17-acre forest, directly adjacent to about half the lots and a short walk from the others.

This picture is now a very obsolete snapshot of the developed portion of our site.   Our streets and pedways are complete; all of our 33 homes and our Common House have been built; we have community gardens, large-scale plantings, and so on, but we'd need to go up in an airplane again to refresh the view.   The point of this picture is to situate the Shadowlake Village site within its general surroundings and give an idea of its size and the lay of the land.
